Inagro has specific interest in the development of innovative and sustainable cropping systems, based on ecosystem-services.
Today, we are involved in several national and interantional research projects related to agroforestry, intercropping and mixed cropping systems, crop rotation approaches and soil management systems, .... such as Diverimpacts (H2020), Afinet (H2020) and SoilDiverAgro (H2020), Transaé (Interreg), .... .
Our strength is dat we work and interact with conventional and organic farmers on daily basis.
Inagro is a non-profit spin-off agency of the province of West Flanders (Belgium). At its location, the province organizes since 1956 activities on research and advisory in primary production. Geographically speaking, Inagro is located in the very intensive and innovation-driven agricultural and horticultural heart of the province of West Flanders.
At Inagro, more than 220 scientific and technical employees dedicate themselves to research and consultancy on a daily basis.
Within its own research infrastructure and on farm, Inagro develops innovative farming techniques ready for practical use. Inagro's advisors take the new know-how to the farmers and other compagnies in de agrofoodbusiness to implement these insights. Fast and direct communication with growers and stakeholders is a key mission of Inagro.
Today, Inagro is active in arable crops, open-air horticulture, greenhouse vegetables, edible mushrooms, belgian endives, intensive stockbreeding, dairy farming, aquaculture and insect farming.
