The ERA-NET coordinators Christian Breuer (ERA-NET SusCrop) and Nicolas Tinois (FACCE SURPLUS) were invited to the IBF Working Groups Meeting Week in Ottawa (Ontario, Canada) to represent their FACCE-JPI actions and to share experiences and good practices for the implementation of transnational joint calls.

The International Bioeconomy Forum (IBF) is a flexible multilateral instrument that was established on November 29, 2017 in Brussels. The main aim of the IBF is to provide a multilateral instrument for international cooperation,

(1) specific to the bioeconomy,
(2) capable of adapting to emerging global needs and, therefore,
(3) to contribute to the achievement of global objectives.

Under the umbrella of the IBF instrument, the following working groups met on November 27-30 2018 in Ottawa, Canada:

  • Microbiome
  • Plant Health
  • Forestry
  • Information and Communications Technologies in Precision Food Systems

The meeting was hosted by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC).

The IBF Working Groups Meeting Week offered plenty of networking occasions and was a fruitful event to identify shared interests and coordinate science priorities and activities between the members of the IBF.
